About Us
The Ogden Valley Winter Sports Foundation (OVWSF), formerly known as the Snowbasin Ski Education Foundation (SSEF), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the development of young ski racers. The Snowbasin Alpine Team, sponsored by the Foundation, provides a fun and challenging way for young men and women to improve their skiing and to develop the skills and discipline that will provide lifelong enjoyment of an active outdoor lifestyle.
The team provides flexible seasonal training for beginning athletes all the way through highly structured comprehensive year round programs for advanced racers. The extensive improvements at Snowbasin resort for the 2002 Winter Olympics created unparalleled training and free skiing venues for junior athletes. Additionally, focused gate training occurs at nearby Wolf Mountain where quick lap times and dedicated training lanes help rapidly improve race technique.
A strong partnership with the Weber School district facilitates educational as well as athletic excellence. Athletes have the option to attend a customized public school program that allows for full time winter sports participation without compromising academic development.
In addition to mountain sports and academics, the Foundation supports the community at large by providing youth volunteers to support various charitable and community events.
Today the team is home to over 100 Northern Utah athletes aged 6 to 18 who train and race locally as well as across the Western US, competing against some of the top junior racers in the nation.

Not only are former Snowbasin Ski Team athletes some of the best skiers on the mountain, the lessons learned in youth ski racing enable them to excel in many other facets of life – family, career, and community.
